RSVP

"Répondez s'il vous plaît", a French phrase that translates to "please respond" and word for word means "respond if you please". It is with this meaning that invitation cards and similar documents are often marked with "RSVP." It is standard practice to reply to an RSVP request whether confirming attendance or declining.

If you have received an invitation to the wedding, you may respond in any way you see fit. Popular methods of reply include: e-mail, traditional air or overground postal services, and via carrier pigeon. We ask that you kindly respond within a reasonable time, so we can manage our guest list and backfill with celebrities where necessary.
